It’s old news that Polaroid stopped making their instant cameras. I’ve been saving my last two packs of film for the Joycam, in case of complete film extinction.. but I can finally stop fearing!
Poladroid creates polaroid images (Macs only) for free. Digital polaroid isn’t the same, but it’s almost just as fun!

Guess who has a new toy! Yours truly.
I must say.. I was so excited I could not sleep, and the next morning my heart was throbbing as I went to the store. Eeep!! The Canon XSi is supposed to be a great camera for amateur photographers and I can already see why. The camera’s so awesome even random pictures turn out beautiful. *grin*

After my last post, Aaron sent me a link from Heading East. Aside from always sharing personal memories and heartwarming moments so well, the blogger offered more wonderful examples of collage and photobooth art. Who knew there was a whole group dedicated to photobooths! I wish I could get my hands on a copy of Fotofix, but there are only pricey used copies to be found online. It’s one of those times I wish I were in the States — better online shopping! But maybe that’s part of why they’re deep in debt..

This is so cute! I have a soft spot for giraffes and llamas. Plus, photobooth pictures remind me of Amélie Poulain. <3

Politics have never been my sort of thing, but this year’s federal elections are such a big deal, all the media attention really forces you to be a little more aware. I think that’s really great! I’ve been making a conscious effort to do my homework (ie. to watch more television), and ended up studying for the ‘wrong’ test, heh. I’ll admit that I only watched the American Vice-President debate rather than the Canadian party leaders debate..
Truth is, relative to the US elections, I almost wish it were just as easy to decide on which Canadian political party to vote for. But I suppose our situation is a good sign that we’re not in such deep trouble, and we don’t need a complete reform in our government. In any case, I still don’t know who I’m voting for! There’s a lack of sense of hope, and instead I just feel discouraged and worried.
I thought the American debate was very interesting to watch, and found a hilariously accurate (in my opinion) flow chart of Sarah Palin’s debate strategy!

Another sort of geeky post… ceramic Tetris tiles!! It wouldn’t look very good in my kitchen, but maybe in the bathroom?? ;) I have been pretty obsessed with decor and design blogs for a while now. The geeky thing doesn’t really resonate with my style. I think I’ll start sharing more things I find beautiful and interesting.

CopyPasteCharacters.com is handy for finding symbols and special characters. Too bad it doesn’t have a lot of accented letters, or the c with cedilla (ç). But those are easier to find anyway.
